Conferences in the field of Modern Information Technology in the Innovation Processes (MITIP) are a forum for scholars and practitioners involved in research focusing on the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in modern industrial enterprises. Researchers from academia and industry present the results of their work and inspire creative dialogue among participants. This book contains proceedings from the 2011 MITIP conference. The theme of the conference was ICT-enabled intelligent manufacturing and supply chains. The conference focused on how ICT is used to innovate and improve the efficiency, adaptability, and sustainability of production systems, supporting the management of ever more complex supply chains.
