
Study of the significance of changes in the transportation environment of Canadian mineral shippers due to the passage of the proposed 1987 National Transportation Act and the 1983 Western Grain Transportation Act. The deregulatory experience in the United States is also discussed, although not the free-trade agreement between Canada and the U.S. Recent developments in mineral transportation in Canada, such as lead zinc transportation in the Yukon, iron ore transportation in Labrador, the Algoma Central Railway, and marine transportation are also included.
