Author Description

This book is the publication of the proceedings from the Fifth International Congress for Peritoneal Dialysis, held in Kyoto during 21-24 July, 1990. 36 countries worldwide were represented, with an attendance of 685 (consisting of 366 doctors and 319 nurses). The total number of papers published comes to 159 (selected from over 200 abstracts submitted, special lectures, symposiums and panel discussions), including 13 from the nurses' session. An unusual feature of this book is the high percentage of papers presented by Japanese authors, which in turn provides new information on the actual status of clinical application and investigative works on CAPD in Japan, and other Asian countries.
