With more than six decades of uninterrupted work in Mexico, Alan Glass (Canada, 1932 - Mexico City 2023) has established himself as one of the most important references of surrealism and its diaspora in Mexico. Featuring 125 pieces from over five decades of Glass's work, exploring themes of nature, desire, travel, and death. Curated by Joshua Sánchez, Xavier de la Riva, Abigail Susik, and Kristoffer Noheden, this exhibition updates the revision of his work, incorporating recent pieces such as the assembly based on a world map, Zéro de conduite [Cero en conducta] (2021), which positions cartography as a frequent theme in his work. Some of his most emblematic pieces are also on display, such as Ziggurat polar (1991), where the legend "Viva México" subtitles the image of an ancient tower surrounded by fireworks. Among the most delicate works is an untitled piece from 1980, which shows us an exquisite watercolor painted on an egg, a representative symbol of surrealism.
