Author Description

The Jean Schwind retrospective is the result of close collaboration between the S.M.A.K. and the Schwind Foundation. The exhibition and catalogue, as well as the devoted website, are conceived in the spirit of the first and only Belgian appropriation artist. Together they comprise an homage to the perturbing role he still play in the world of art. Philippe Van Cauteren, artistic director of S.M.A.K.
