A Companion to International Finance Edited by: Professor Raj Aggarwal Firestone Chair in Finance Kent State University This edited collection is intended as the first volume in the Blackwell finance reference series of "Companions." Blackwell's Companions to Contemporary Finance will be reference volumes accessible to serious students, yet contain up to date material from recognized experts in their particular fields. These volumes focus on basic bread and butter issues in finance as well as popular contemporary topics often not covered in textbooks. Coverage avoids the overly technical, is concise, clear, comprehensive, and up to date. Each Companion will feature an introductory essay by the editor, and will have extensive bibliography and index. The Companion to International Finance should appeal as a reference to serious undergraduate students, graduate students, and academics in the field of finance. It should also have appeal to the enlightened layman as the work of reference in international finance that would be turned to first. For this reason it will contain the most up-to-date data available in summary form; and provide a guide to the sources for the fullest and best data. Each chapter will review research on the topics chosen and assimilate diverse findings into a coherent whole offering a comprehensive, state-of-the-art guide to the field of International Finance. At present, the interested reader has little option but to seek out journal articles and books which often extol the virtues of one approach among many, or explain a single facet of the problem. Each contribution would provide a balanced account of the state of knowledge. An extensive editorial overview will introduce the contributions, and place them into context. OUTLINE/TOPICS <
