Author Description

This book is an edited volume with individual chapters, providing the range of scientific results of the European Project HUMBOLDT on data harmonisation in spatial data infrastructures (SDIs). The research results presented offer the methodology and solutions for improvement and automation of the harmonisation process. It includes sections about the underlying methodologies, the approach taken and the resulting architecture, as well as additional information about the decisions, background and benefits to explain the chosen approach. Besides the state of the art, the approach and architecture, also experiences and lessons learned are included.
