This anthology introduces and places in context a collection of the most important contributions to our understanding of international political economy. The first section introduces the various ideologies of political economy and substantive applications. Subsequent sections critically examine the history and current tenor of international monetary and trade relations, the evolution and character of development assistance, and the role of the transnational enterprise in IPE. The inclusion here of chapters examining the functions and evolution of the major multilateral institutions is a distinctive feature of the book.
