Nesta obra estuda-se um conjunto de vinte e duas lucernas romanas pertencentes ao Museu de Arqueologia de Évora. Com exceção de uma lucerna (a nº 19), os exemplares aqui apresentados constam das fichas de museu como “provavelmente pertencentes” à coleção do famoso arcebispo Frei Manuel do Cenáculo de Villas Boas (1724-1814). Deste acervo, apenas metade é de fabrico peninsular. As lucernas importadas fora da Península, com exceção do exemplar fragmentado nº 22 oriundo do centro da atual Tunísia, são de fabrico itálico. This work studies a collection of twenty-two Roman lamps belonging to the Archaeology Museum in Évora. With the exception of one lamp (No. 19), the examples presented here are listed in the museum files as “probably belonging” to the collection of the archbishop Friar Manuel do Cenáculo de Villas Boas (1724-1814). Only half of these items were made in the Iberian Peninsula. Those that were imported were all of Italian manufacture, with the exception of the fragment No. 22 which came from the centre of what is now Tunisia.
