The theory that drives the poetry in this volume is that poems are descriptions of the various levels of the geological architecture of the mind. Ordinary language skims off the tops of the.highest, most accessible parts of this geology. One can think of the mind in terms of the geology of the Grand Canyon. Poets can live at any level of this geology. However, the deep levels are where we find the lands of dreams and randomly linked symbols in an architecture constructed without the rhymes and reasons of our everyday life, a world of linguistic quantum realities. While some of the poems in this collection come from the upper regions of this Grand Canyon of linguistic architecture, the majority of my poetry comes from, explores, the deeper regions, the regions of subterranean, subconscious, surrealist realities.
