
Pearl Chen is 16 years old when she realizes she likes girls. Pearl is albino, and already accustomed to ridicule. If her secret gets out, life in her strict Catholic Brooklyn high school will become even more of a nightmare. Pearl's only escape is the internet, where she meets Luna Santos, an abrasive dreamer with a love of insects and Tarot. When Luna crosses over from the internet to the real world, Pearl is forced to come to terms with the intensity of her feelings. Compounding her distress are a father who has vanished overnight and a pregnant mother slowly unraveling before Pearl's eyes. When Luna dares to love Pearl back, Pearl begins to heal. Slowly, Pearl realizes that an unconditional love like Luna's may be the key to fixing her broken family. Luna Park is a practice in love and acceptance, wherein the former proves a remedy for all possible ailments.
