It all began when Yo's pet hamster died. To cheer her up, Ma Diamond made a ginger-and-white soft-toy hamster. The new Haffertee Hamster Diamond proved to be quite a character - inquisitive, funny and lovable. From his home in Yo's bedroom - shared with his friend Howl Owl and a strange collection of toys - he set out to explore Hillside House and meet the family.
