The latest in an annual series, this directory contains abstracts of almost 1400 projects being carried out in over 80 countries, and reflects the huge range of epidemiological research into the distribution, causes, and prevention of cancer around the world. Each project is indexed in up toeight separate indexes, enabling rapid searches for current studies fitting almost any description. This year, for the first time, it will be possible to search the indexes simultaneously, using specially developed software on an IBM-PC compatible diskette, in order to speed up searching and makesearches more efficient. The book also includes comprehensive lists of 238 population-based cancer registries and over200 biological material banks, all available for collaboration in epidemiological research. The addresses and telephone numbers of nearly 1000 investigators are provided to improvecontact between researchers.
