Since the turn of the century, a proliferation of new theological terms and concepts has flooded the vocabulary of amateur and professional theologians. The failure to understand the basic concepts used by contemporary theologians has led frequently to a misinterpretation of the students and ministers that use these terms. The purpose of this handbook is to provide a ready guide to the leading concepts of the major contemporary thinkers in theology. Attention is focused upon Barth, Brunner, Reinhold Neibuhr, Tilliach, and Bultmann; Soren Kierkegaard is also given major consideration inasmuch as his ideas are still very contemporary.
