[...] Ensure reasonable access to quality health services is provided in and through the region, and Promote the provision of health services in a manner that focuses on the needs of individuals and communities and support integration of services and facilities in the region. [...] The Courts will examine the rights of individuals under a Charter of Rights challenge as they balance against the overall objectives of the scheme of health care service delivery. [...] The Court examined the requested treatment, alternative treatments, the cost of the treatment, risks and benefi ts of providing and not providing the treatment, and ruled that autistic children deserve to have access to those services which would improve their health as functioning members of society.
