This is the first in a fictional series based on stories of a small private school founded in 1906 in rural Manitoba: St. CharlesCatholic School in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Set in the rugged prairies, this volume tells how members of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart and of Mary Immaculate came to found their first school. It references the Archbishop of St. Boniface and local Metis families.
