This book presents the vibration of circular cylinders in quiescent fluid, axial flow, and crossflow, and applications of the analytical methods and experimental data in design evaluation of various system components consisting of circular cylinders. It emphasizes analytical tools to predict structural vibration and experimental data for fluid forces and will help solve many important flow induced vibration problems in different industries. The techniques and results presented in this book will be useful not only to designers but also to researchers in this field. A comprehensive treatment of different situations is given in this book. For example, a thorough review of the analytical models and most recent development of fluidelastic instability of an array of cylinders in crossflow are presented in Chapter 10.
