One of the original Four Great Novels of China. However, since the feudal government considered it too erotic, it has been censored for three centuries. Consequently, even though almost all Chinese know about this novel, very few have read it because their ancestors have told them not to do so. The conservative Chinese scholars therefore removed Golden Blossoms in a Golden Vase from the list of the Four Great Novels of China and replaced it by Red Tower Dream as soon as the latter appeared two centuries later.
