One comes from a rich family, the other from a poor one. One was highly cultured, the other only received the most basic of educations. One is a Cardinal, the other a hidden apostle of Love. And yet, they seem to have everything in common: This is the story of two Vietnamese men who dedicated their lives to God, even in the worst circumstances of captivity and suffering. Today, their beatification processes have been opened so that their sanctity can be recognized by the Church. Cardinal Thun was declared Venerable in May 2017. Both men carried the same core message: That of the hope which does not disappoint the heart, even through the painful trials of Love.
