Product Description Written by the author of Schindler's Ark, Flying Hero Class, The Playmaker and The Place Where Sold are Born, this novel captures the contrast between American and Australian culture today through the exploits of one Jacko Emptor. Review Deftly and entertainingly told * The Times * Jacko gets into some fine scrapes; the descriptions of life on his family's Northern Territory ranch and of Sydney's cultured classes are effortlessly rich; it is fun deciding whether Bickham, the Nobel-winning writer, portrayed with such marvellous subtlety, is "really" Patrick White * Daily Telegraph * Keneally has written yet another remarkable book... It's also a ripper of a read * Sunday Express * A beautiful mad romp of a novel... Prepare to be dazzled * Daily Mail * About the Author Thomas Keneally began his writing career in 1964 and has published thirty novels since.
