The relations and cultural interactions between ancient Egypt and the land of Israel are amply described in the bible and through the material remains uncovered by decades of archeological research. Beginning in prehistory, this interplay has spanned the ages, varying in significance and cultural consequence from period to period. It is the goal of the Bronfman archaeology wing of the Israel museum to display artifacts of this remarkable exchange of influences throughout the ancient history of our land. The Abraham Guterman collection makes an outstanding contribution to the Egyptian holdings of the Israel Museum.
