The question of how architectural thinking and practices change in light of emergent technologies is addressed in this issue of Architectural Design. The argument that architecture changes only when society experiences fundamental shifts in the basic framework of thought or world view is also raised. Projects by Peter Eisenman, Frank Gehry, Philip Johnson and Enric Miralles are used to illustrate the writers' conclusions.
