Architecture insists on building, only introducing "greenery" in built-up areas as an element capable of accomplishing or performing various functions. Architecture often forgets, however, that greenery, unlike buildings and cities, has its own life and developmental processes. Given time, greenery will always get the upper hand. Grounded in the research and ideas of Italian architect and thinker Ugo La Pietra, this publication addresses the metamorphoses inherent in the unseen or spontaneous forms of natural progression. He maps the conformation, deterioration, obsolescence, temporary modification, and human action that impact our physical world.
