Product Description Giannozzo Manetti's Historia Pistoriensis, composed in 1446-7, is an important example of Renaissance historical writing. About the Author Giannozzo Manetti (1396-1459) belonged to the first generation of Florentine humanists. A wealthy merchant, he devoted the second half of his life to the study of the Latin, Greek and Hebrew classics, while filling a series of important offices as ambassador and territorial governor.
