Author Description

This work presents the fundamentals of Nanotechnology by covering its critical dimensions, quantum mechanical aspects and the self-assembling. Not only promising applications are presented for e.g. optics, electronics and biotechnology, but the author also discusses on the basis of recent research its risk potential.
