Health literacy in practice requires the development of techniques that ensure the patient can better access information, understands its content, knows how to use that information and makes better health decisions.If patients make better health decisions, there will be immediate repercussions on their health outcomes. Health professionals have a crucial role in understanding the instructions and adhering to the therapeutic proposal. Although the desire of a trained and empowered patient is permanent, as advocated by WHO (2009), the intervention of the health professional represents "the strongest side of the balance" (Almeida, 2018, p. 33).All the techniques that will be presented here aim to be facilitators of the health professional daily intervention, and a guide for health education in academies and organizations. These techniques are complementary because on their one they cannot achieve the maximum of the therapeutic objective.
