HARBINGERS: Care or Catastrophe presents an ultimatum: care for our planet or face environmental collapse. The exhibition presents all newly commissioned works from five artists with strong connections to South Australia. Passionate advocates for change, these artists are driven by resilience, integrity, community-led action and hope. They call for a collective movement grounded in deep listening and care, to counteract the chaos of disconnection and move toward generating a sustainable future for us all. HARBINGERS asks: what could our future look like if we prioritise the environment, cultural practices and social wellbeing over profit; and what does it look like if we don't?Curated by Country Arts SA Visual Arts Manager Lauren Mustillo and Murray Bridge Regional Gallery Director Fulvia Mantelli, HARBINGERS: Care or Catastrophe is the outcome of the inaugural SPUR: Regional Curatorial Mentorship skills development and commissioning initiative, both of which have been developed by Country Arts SA in collaboration with Murray Bridge Regional Gallery. The exhibition development and presentation has been supported by two mentees: Wes Maselli (Curatorial Mentee, Hayborough, SA) and Michelle Dohnt (Project Management Mentee, Murray Bridge, SA).
