An extraordinary collection of animal photographs by Alfons Alt, the winner of the European Publishers Award for Photography for the year 2000. The work incorporates one of the oldest printing techniques (Resino-pigmentype) which allows the photographer to manipulate the colouration of the images and whilst the work is remiscent of a medieval bestiary it is inescapably contemporary both in visual approach and content.
