This book was written in response to the need for a community health nursing textbook that reflects the practice of community health nursing in Canada. It is not an adaptation of a US text, but a fully Canadian textbook designed to match the way in which the course is offered in Canada. Written with the undergraduate student in mind, each of the topics is explored with the understanding that this will be the student's first foray into the community nursing spectrum. Clearly designated as an overview text, it is designed to introduce students to the many elements and sub-specialties in community health nursing. As each chapter provides the basics of the content area, it also directs the student to additional sources of information through the chapter features. The range of topics and the text's approach make this book an excellent resource for courses in community health at any level.
