"These are the proceedings of the international conference Strings '93, which was held at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in Berkeley, California from May 24 through May 29, 1993. This conference is the most recent one in a series of international meetings devoted to string theory. Earlier meetings in the series include those held at Maryland ('87 and '88), Texas A & M ('89 and '90) and Stony Brook ('91). For six days, over 200 people attended 52 lectures covering subjects including superstring phenomenology, properties of string compactifications, conformal field theory, 2-D gravity, integrable systems, black hole physics, QCD in two dimensions, etc."--Preface
