Monograph of the Genus Pustularia by Felix Lorenz ISBN 978-3-939767-60-2, 2014 published by ConchBooks, Germany, hardcover in laminated boards, stitched binding, 130 pages, 17 by 25.4cm (about 6¾ by9 ¾inches) containing 30 full page color photo plates, and 37 color figures in text many of them in color as well as tables, charts and maps This is the second of the Monographs that Felix Lorenz has written, the other being "Monograph of the Living Zoila" which we're sorry to say is now out of print. This new book is a thorough examination of the six species and sixteen subspecies that make up this small Genus within the Cypraeidae. These figures include 3 newly described subspecies. The shells in this Genus are small in size and tend at a superficial glance to closely resemble one another. But through the use of detailed photos, drawings and descriptions Lorenz makes his points for the separation of these shells one from another well understood. Not everyone, myself included will agree with the author's conclusions about how significant these differences are and if their separation is truly justified, but one must respect the amount of work and research that went into this publication. We are hopeful that Dr. Lorenz will continue this series with equally thorough studies of the other Cypraea genera.
