About the Author Sharma Shields holds a BA in English literature from the University of Washington and an MFA from the University of Montana. She is the author of the short story collection Favorite Monster and winner of the 2011 Autumn House Fiction Prize. Her work has appeared in numerous journals, including The Kenyon Review and The Iowa Review. She lives in Spokane with her husband and children.
