Al Capone Andrews is a fifty-something ex-rock 'n' roller with a story to tell. He tells of four university drop-outs who form a band called 'The Sublimated Urge'. When their drummer is murdered the boys look within themselves in search for consolation that will still the hurt and guilt they feel from their drummer's death. What results is the discovery that they can all write sensitive and meaningful poetry, which they put to music. From humble beginnings the band eventually thieves stardom, but the road along the way is littered with drug and alcohol abuse and wrong turns. Their poetry and music remain as a legacy to a group of four prodigiously talented but fatally flawed young men.
