
A comprehensive study with CD-Rom of the paintings of "crowned nuns" in the the hispanic Americas. Paintings which are representative of the Mexican baroque period and were used by women during solemn religious ceremonies as they entered the convent and gave up the civil life. The author has been investigating this collection since the late 1990s. This study is the first to do a comparative study with works and studies done in Per, Colombia and Spain. The study completes the analysis of the more than 200 paintings located in museums, convents and private collections. This book begins the star of an academic series to disseminate between specialist and the public a variety of studies on collections in the museum.
