Howdy y'all! After being disappointed time and time again by the slapped together selections of horror anthologies I've seen on here, I decided to step up and make one containing what I consider to be the true "best of the best". No filler. This collection contains the following: John William Polidori – The Vampyre (1816) E.T.A. Hoffmann – The Deserted House (1817) Mary Shelly - Frankenstein (1818) Washington Irving – The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1820) Nathaniel Hawthorne – The Minister’s Black Veil (1836) Charles Dickens – The Signal Man (1866) Robert Louis Stevenson – The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886) Bram Stoker – The Judge’s House (1891) Charlotte Perkins Gilman – The Yellow Wallpaper (1892) Arthur Machen – The Great God Pan (1894) H.G. Wells – The Red Room (1896) Henry James - The Turn of the Screw (1898) W.W. Jacobs - The Monkey’s Paw (1902) Algernon Blackwood – The Willows (1907) & four stories from Robert W. Chambers "The King In Yellow" (1895) I include a (very) brief introduction and some final words at the tail end of the book, but besides that, you're getting exactly what's listed above, formatted nice for good reading. I excluded Lovecraft and Poe as their entire works should be read, and also because I feel like every collection on the market lazily throws in the typical stories, so I wanted this one to stand out. I set out to make a book I would actually buy myself. If you have suggestions for stories I could include in a second volume, please feel free to let me know. I will definitely make that if this sells decent enough.
