What impact has the accommodation of third party claims and interests had on the traditional bilateral framework for the regulation of international affairs? This volume examines this subject with a detailed analysis of the position of both individual actors within the international arena and the broader international community in three areas of international law--treaties, international procedure of adjudication and arbitration, and the illegal use of force--in order to determine the general position of third parties in international law. Using this perspective, the work discusses current processes for making and the application of international law.
