The Folks of Lore oracle deck and guidebook came about through a primal combustion of artwork, Shamanic practice, and synchronicity. Robin Hill more widely known as a photographer was asked by his friend, the poet 'Zan' to create artwork for her book of poetry entitled 'HOLY'. By placing organic matter on a glass table, he hoped to create artworks that were synonymous with Zan's poems. Although at first the artworks were not really working - an intervention in the form of Shaman Flavio Moy came into Robin's life and as a result, his artwork radically changed, and soon he was channeling portraits from the fifth dimension. The 'AHA' moment came when Robin was listening to Eric Clapton's version of the song 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'?.as Robin's hands moved the organic matter across the table, the face of Eric Clapton started to organize itself in front of him! But the portrait whispered to the inner consciousness of Robin's soul and said, "I may look like Eric Clapton, but my name is Sir Eric of Braithwaite, and I am the light magician!" Robin immediately dived underneath the glass table and started to photograph the portrait from underneath?the portraits therefore literally and metaphorically coming through from the other side! The process continued until 70 portraits formed themselves into a tribe of archetypes that called themselves: The Folks of Lore. Each character was given an element from classical antiquity consisting of Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Ether. 35 females and 35 males were completed giving the oracle deck a perfect balance of energies. The experience of reading the cards can be learned and interpreted through the guidebook written by Robin Hill. This powerful oracle deck of cards can be used as an instrument of healing, guidance, and ultimately manifestation
