Diabetes mellitus continues to be a worldwide health problem, and a knowledge of diabetes and its complications is important for a wide range of health-care professionals. This slide atlas is a selection of illustrations, charts and tables taken from the "Textbook of Diabetes". All 45 slides have been redrawn to meet the needs of clarity and legibility which the slide format demands. The topics covered in the slides and accompanying booklet of notes provide a basis for lectures and seminars on the general aspects of diabetes, and include: an historical perspective of diabetes; insulin structure; synthesis and processing; insulin regimens and injection sites; pathogenesis and management of diabetes and its major complications, including drugs which require caution. The slide atlas consists of 45 full colour slides in a binder, accompanied by a 20-page booklet containing 45 corresponding illustrations with explanatory captions.
