There also occur on Imperial coins of Sicyon figures of Aphrodite and Eros, of Dionysos, of Pan, of Artemis Pheraea (Paus., ii. 10, 7), of Demeter, of Tyche 'Axpaia (Paus., ii. 7, 5), etc. ACHAIA. Aegae was in early times (after Helice) the chief seat of the worship of Poseidon in Achaia. The town gradually fell into decay, until, before the time of Alexander the Great, the remnant of its inhabitants migrated to the neighbouring Aegeira.
