Product Description The publication of this set will mark the fiftieth anniversary of the International Law Commission, the UN body principally responsible for the codification and development of international law. Together, the three volumes will collect the full texts of the Commission's final draft Articles and Commentaries, and other final reports, on all the topics on which it has completed work during its first fifty years, up to and including 1998. They will also contain the texts of all the treaties which have been concluded on the basis of the Commission's draft Articles. About the Author Having read Law at Cambridge, the author joined the Foreign Office (now the Foreign & Commonwealth Office) in 1956 as an assistant legal adviser. After a varied career with the FCO, he became Deputy Legal Adviser in 1982 and The Legal Adviser in 1987. He retired in 1991, and took up practice at the Bar.
