Though there is growing research on the social determinants of health for Indigenous Australians, it is not known whether the links between these social determinants and health change over time. This paper investigates this matter, by comparing findings from the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Survey (NATSISS) from 2002 to 2012/13. The study finds that employment status and housing tenure are consistently and significantly associated with a range of health and wellbeing outcomes across this time period, and that the association of education with health and wellbeing has weakened. Other findings are discussed. Considering the significant changes in the Indigenous population over the past decade, this information is vital for policy development.
