Broad in scope, this first volume of two examines the various contract rules of several different European jurisdictions, including the most important civilian systems as well as English common law, and attempts to articulate general principles that are shared by all of these. While this first volume analyzes the general principles of European contract law, the second will examine the specifics of various rules. Together, these volumes will be invaluable to scholars and practitioners in Europe and beyond.
