Author Description

In this volume of poetry, I have taken the traditional haiku form of three lines of five, seven and five syllables and have added my own unique sensibilities to it. I invite you to place yourself in the words to spawn your own interpretation and meaning that brings you joy or wisdom. I hope these poems convey wabi--the beauty of the ordinary--and sabi--a keen feeling of one's own existence and impermanence. I believe the value of poetry, be it in haiku or any other form, is that it intensifies an experience and awakens you. Poetry is to be loved because it can bring momentary bliss, like the sound of cool water on stones on a hot summer day.
