The volume spans three centuries of political thought, presenting selections from Montesquieu, Bagehot, and Bryce--three scholar-politicians who established the model for legislative studies--as well as works by such contemporary pioneers as Bernard Crick, Anthony King, Samuel Beer, and Nelson Polsby.
