In This Chapter, I Argue That Nursing Ethics Is Rightfully Viewed As A Distinct Field Of Critical Inquiry Relevant To The Nursing Profession And Its Purposes. While There Are Areas Of Overlap And Mutual Interests With Bioethics, Medical Ethics, And The Ethics Of Other Disciplines, Nursing Ethics Is Concerned With The Particular Purposes And Perspectives Of The Profession And Problems Faced In Trying To Achieve Its Goals.
