Not illustrated. 1914 Excerpt:...Channel entrance.--A recent survey of the rock, named Ballena P. 252. Rock, located 500 yards 180 from the eastern extremity of Chidhuapi Island, western side of the entrance to Chidhuapi Channel, shows that the rock is about 11 yards in extent and uncovers at low water. Approximate position: Lat. 41 52' S., Long. 73 06' W. ChauIIin Island.--A light-colored building stands near the center and highest part of Chaullin Island, off the entrance to Huito Inlet. The building forms a good landmark for vessels making for Calbuco anchorage from the northward or southward. Approximate position on plan on H. O. chart No. 1568: Lat. 41 45' 45" S., Long. 73 06' 15" W. Port Calbuco.--A fixed red light, elevated 16J feet above high water and visible 2 miles, has been established on the extremity of the mole at Port Calbuco. Approximate position: Lat. 41 46' 10" S., Long. 73 07' 44" W. Amnistia Shoal.--The conical red buoy formerly marking Amnistia Shoal, Ancud Gulf, has been replaced by a spherical buoy with a spherical topmark, all painted in black and white stripes, and having the name Amnistia painted on the body of the buoy. The buoy is i n the same position as the former one on the northern side of the shoal. The southern side of Amnistia Bank is not marked by a buoy. The note to that effect will therefore be removed from the charts. Reloncavl Bay Shoals.--An examination of Reloncavi Bay gives the following P. 265. information: Rosario Shoal does not exist. Where it is indicated on the chart 55 fathoms were obtained. Pucari Shoal lies more to the southward than shown on the chart; its center is 1$ miles 190 from the point to the southward of Redonda Point; dries 10 feet at low water.
