Author Description

The current 1991 British Columbia Science Assessment is the fourth in a series of provincial science assessments which began in 1978 and were repeated in 1982 and 1986. The assessment uses a number of new methods of collecting data on student achievement and science instruction. The report gives highlights and recommendations; describes and puts in context the student performance component; describes the development of tasks and analytical procedures; gives the results of the grade 4, 7, and 10 station tasks and the results across grades; and discusses the issues in the assessment of student performance.
