An Ironic IntroductionThere is no right way to start a book. It's either going to sound too grandiose - too affected, ambitious, and bombastic - or too dull. What I want is a symphony of syllables to captivate and charm - one sentence to compel you to turn to page one, either to enter my mind or put it away to collect dust on a shelf and cash money in my pocket. But I cannot promise this much. Linguistic posturing would be a waste of my time - as if I even had the skill to do so - and that would belie the intent. What I can promise is an existential journey into the recesses of my brain - a commentary on the human condition and a mirror of your own. So pick up this book to add money to my pocket and a guide to your mind, for the sake of us all...~ Description ~An existential short collection of 100 small vignettes. Some are explicit philosophy, some are my memories, and some are poetry. Some push the boundary of all of three. ~ Objective ~I want this to be introspective and autobiographical, but I don't want that to be its sole virtue. I want it to be insightful and hopefully constitute some larger, cohesive narrative concerning matters of existential import, using myself as a case study. Not that I need to make an explicit point; I hope there will be enough for readers to draw their own message. And If I can take intermittent pauses to make some people laugh at life along the way, all the better. Finally, I don't want the book to be long, but I don't want it to be easy. If you're reading it right, it should be a puzzle.
