The volume brings together in one place material about several other medical and psychiatric disorders in which depressive symptoms or full-blown depressive syndrome commonly appear, focusing on those illnesses in which depressive symptomatology can be seen as more than just reactive "demoralization". The introductory section covers the issues and psychiatric considerations relating to such disorders; then several chapters discuss depressive symptomatology in association with other psychiatric disorders; next a section on depression in a variety of medical disorders is featured with a final summary.
