Coming into a new church is like making a new friend. When you meet a new person, you may like them right away, but there is much to learn about them. You ultimately learn who they are over time, but it can be helpful to get some insights up front. It is similar when you join a new church. Often there will be new concepts to learn and words used in different ways than they are used in other places. One friend has put it well, "The trouble with our church is that there are very few onramps for those who haven't been here for years." This is meant to be an introduction to some of the distinctions about what we believe and it is hoped that it will be helpful. Many of these issues are big topics - deep topics - and issues that cannot be fully covered in a few simple pages of text. This is only an introduction to these ideas. For this booklet to be effective you must ask questions and evaluate what is written here. And there are many here who would love to discuss these things with you as well!
